This is just a fun drawing i did for Halloween. Finished it too late to sell on shirts etc this year, maybe ext time kiddies. Although, I did show a print of it at the Gemini & Scorpio masquerade on Saturday.
Anybody out there celebrate Halloween year round and would want a T-shirt of this anyway?
Here’s a project I’ve been sitting on for a bit before sharing. I was waiting to get my hands on an actual shirt so I could I photograph it. This is a T-Shirt illustration a drew for my awesome friends over at The Cinnamon Snail printed by my other awesome friends at Printosaurus. Awesome!
As far as I know, you can only buy one in person at the Cinnamon Snail truck itself. So if you’re lucky enough to be in Hoboken or Red Bank, New Jersey, then watchya waitin’ fer!? Go find out where Adam and the truck are on twitter!
Check out the back and the pink girls version (modeled by the lovely Laura) in the gallery:
I’m pleased to announce that on June 4th in Greenpoint The Blood Dumpster is having another art show and party event, Pyrophilia. I’ll have a brand new piece in the show AND we will be debuting the new Blood Dumpster T-Shirt I designed. Fret not if you can’t make it to the show, the shirts are available for pre-order at the BD website.
Today I was working on the first T-shirt for my artist collective, The Blood Dumpster
. I took a bunch of screenshots during the process so I thought I’d share.
Here’s the first sketch. I tend to go pretty literal with things, so i drew bloody things coming out of a dumpster. (I assure you the collective isn’t all about drawing dumpsters and blood. Mostly. )
Pretty fun, but I wanted to push it farther and add some detail. After some feedback from the group and several attempts at refining the sketch I came up with this draft.
I scanned it and opened the file in illustrator. I rotated it a little because I sorta drew it on a slant and i wanted teh dumpster to be more upright. Here as some of my initial “inking” lines.
I’m generally using a single custom brush with he Brush tool. You can see I’m ready planning out some of the colors.
We’re planning on doing it on a black or red shirt, most likely. Therefore, I wanted to create a white backing/border so all the black lines would still read on a black background.
Here I started doing some fills with a halftone pattern to get some depth out of the limited palette.
Cleaned up the shading shapes. Looks pretty awesome on white background, but we want to print on a black shirt…
…and that border looks a lot sloppier in high-contrast.
So i went in a made it a lot tighter, and dropped it from the blood splashes and smaller parts that didn’t quite need the outline. Last, I added The Blood Dumpster logo and my ol’ siggy on a skull. Also the nipple is squirting. That way, you know, it looks more nippley.
Hey everyone. Drew yet another t-shirt, “Mullet-ov Cocktail,” so it would super-swell of you if you could score it to help it get printed on Threadless!
Thanks a bunch!
It’s very sad when a sneaker loses it’s sole. It’s especially hard on the feet.
Hey guys and gals! My first ever Threadless t-shirt design, “Love Bites,” is up for scoring. I would really appreciate if everyone could follow the link and give it high score.
But if love for the design (or me 0:D) isn’t enough to get you to score it then I got a couple giveaways to wet your whistle. Everyone who sends me proof that they scored the design a 5 will get a free original drawn-by-hand-on-a-physical-piece -of-paper sketch signed by me. Not only that, if it wins and gets printed the first 5 people to score it a 5 with get a drawing AND a free print of the t-shirt.
Moreover, anyone who sends proof of reposting this link or a link to this blog post on 3 different social media sites (ie. Twitter, Digg, Facebook) will get a personal sketch emailed to them!
In order to qualify I need hard proof of your scoring in the form of: A) a screenshot of the scored threadless next to an open window of Myspace/Facebook home page like this B) a photo of you scoring the design. Or any other way you can prove YOU are scored my design a 5. The more ways you include in one image the better.
Sorry t-shirt and physical drawings only available in US and Canada. However, I am totally willing to email a sketch to qualified participants living anywhere else worldwide.
